Review - Ranma 1/2
February 19, 2008 – 5:08 pmReview by Roriconfan
This is the first season of the animated adaptation of Ranma ½, based on the homonymous manga made by Rumiko Takahashi. Because it was made as a test, only 18 episodes were made. The producers of the show were worried if a very long series like this would sell, so they aired only few episodes in order to make sure the viewers dig it.
And as you can guess, it did sell and the second season, named Ranma 1/2 Nettou Hen followed to continue the adventures of the cross-gender Ranma and his man-hating Akane.
Please redirect to the reviews of Ranma 1/2 Nettou Hen for more info on this great title (I have an analytic review of my own there).
P.S.: As a side note, I must complain that the producers didn’t give the series the attention it deserved. The slight deviations from the manga the anime was based upon were enough to spoil a significant portion of its magic. Once again, the manga is still better to its colorful, animated counterpart.
